My Teacher My Country – Thank you Teacher!

Our Sunday was indeed well spent as we had the opportunity to enjoy so many light hearted musical performances and songs. We hereby express our gratitude to Guest Of Honour, Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Honorary Advisor of Blossom World Society for gracing the event My Teacher My Country – Thank you Teacher 2017.

Have you hear of the song “Something Just Like This” being played by chinese instruments? Thank you Heyday CO for putting up an interesting rendition of the pop song by infusing piano elements, guizhen and yangqing in an unique combination. And also, our 2 young talent for their song dedication to the teachers.

Chloe & Songyu, whom you are see on stage, is our newer batch of young emcees making their debut on stage! More of such appearances to come from the younger generation.

The sisters, Hsi Ning, Yen Ning together with Irene, put up various song performances dedicated to the teachers in their lives and to all teachers out there.

Ms Sim also presented prizes to our winners of “Thank You Teacher” photo contest 2017 to our winners. Many thanks to our volunteers and sponsors for their unwavering support to make this contest an interesting one.

The finale of the event consists of the "Passing of light" and the recitation of the pledge. The passing of light symbolises the imparting of knowledge, values and passion by our teachers to us. The recitation of the pledge reminds us to stay united in our aim to create a nurturing and conducive environment for everyone.
