Festive Goodie Bag Distribution

Blossom World Society and its volunteers took part in our recent Goodie Bag Distribution on 9 May 2021 to share the joy of the festive season with underprivileged households. This event allowed us to share kindness and sincerity with our Muslim and Indian friends and allowed them to enjoy a joyful Hari Raya.

Furthermore, Hari Raya cards that were prepared by our Blossom World team were distributed to the underprivileged household with the goodie bags, as a way to express gratitude and well wishes to the families.

A total of 24 volunteers participated in this event. This event was not just about distributing cash donations to 37 underprivileged households and picking up goodies bags to send to the 21 families, this was about having the sincerity and kindness to help one another through this tough time. Since Covid-19 started, it has been more hard-pressed for some households, as people lost their jobs, and families were left with no income. We hope this event meant a lot to the household members and we hope that this reminds us of the underprivileged people in our society and urge that you spare a thought for them.

One of the volunteers said “While we were delivering to one of the homes, the beneficiary looked really happy and seemed to be almost close to tears. She continually thanked us for the help. It really warmed my heart because although I was only delivering the goodie bags, the efforts of other volunteers who helped to gather and pack the items for the goodie bags did not go in vain as the beneficiaries really appreciate our kind help. I’m glad that I was able to be part of this meaningful distribution during this pandemic!”
