12.12 Blossom Home Refresh
For senior/ vulnerable individuals staying alone, accumulated items will not keep up with the physical demands of housekeeping. Over time, the cluttered and unhygienic environment might pose various hazards as it increases the possibilities of not only slips and falls, but also illnesses and infections.
On 12 December 2020, we attended to 3 units and found out that one of the units have faced such living conditions for many years. We are glad that Aunty J. is open to our assistance.
Images below show the condition which Aunty J is facing. During the course of cleaning, other than the common items such as newspapers and broken appliances, we found many donated canned food that were expired.
After more than 420mins of decluttering and cleaning, look at the sparking clean house!
Thank you Blossom Youth for helping to declutter the house and not backing off from the strong odour and pests.
After numerous decades of hard work, it would be good for the older generation to enjoy their golden years living in a comfortable and clean environment. Hope more of you could join us this project.
Meanwhile, another group of Blossom Youth attended to Ms Sally, a strong warrior battling with cancer.
We learnt so much from her and her inspiring experiences. It’s a fulfilling and enriching experience that we have gained from the event. Learning from one another’s life experiences and the plans which some of us had taken in overcoming some barriers in life gave us valuable life insights.
Other than freshly painted wall in her rooms, Salam has other plans of his own. A flower for Ms Sally! A pleasant surprise for her!
The joy they experience sparks joy in us too.
Have a story of an act of kindness that touched you? Share with us! Let us work together to share the graciousness in our community and inspire more to give. Down the road, compassion will definitely be part of Singaporean’s 5 Cs.
