Commence Plastic Reduction also known as C.P.R., is BWS efforts to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of single-use plastic. How our small and cute actions today can be an impactful, powerful and a beautiful outcome for our tomorrow. So come contribute your amazing energy and share it with the nature, the Earth and your peers! 🪐🪐🪐

🕘 Time: 9 am to 11am

🏖️ Location: Sembawang Beach

🕶️ Attire: Sun protective wear, covered shoes 👒

To bring: Used grocery plastic bag (for their second/third life), water bottle, own protective gear from Singapore’s unpredictable weather (sun block, umbrella, hat etc)

Why: Brighten up someone’s day (including the fishes, turtles, birds and more)! 🐟 🐢🐦‍⬛

an event in celebration of International Plastic Bag Free day and Singapore’s Climate Action Week, and in support of Towards Zero Waste.

Interactive Exhibits on Commencing Plastic Reduction

Did you know, that in every minute, 1 million plastic bottles are being bought around the world? Find out more shocking facts and figures on our local and global plastic usage! Explore fun activities like to get to sort our own trash into miniature replicas of our Singapore bins.


Photobooth

Come take a pledge with fun props where you get to show-off your love for Mother Earth!


Whale Tunnel

Ever wondered how the insides of a plastic-starved whale looks like? A whale washed up into Singapore’s shore is transported and treated for us to experience and see plastic trash lined up in the stomach.


Family Up-cycling Workshop

Want to know how you can make your very own recycle bag from strings? This fun activity not only teaches you a new skill, you are challenged to make it in a team!

Volunteer Recruitment for Plastic-less July

Plastic-less July “PLJ” Exhibition

is a youth initiative C.P.R. (Commence Plastic Reduction) project by Blossom World Society. It is scheduled to be held on 20-21 July 2019 in Westgate courtyard. This 2-day awareness exhibition aims to raise awareness to the public and institutes on the adverse effects of excessive use of single-use plastics and improper disposal of plastic wastes. Highlights of the event include massive whale sculpture that showcases some of the direct harm of plastic waste on the environment. There will be a prize-giving presentation on eco-theme public speaking and videography competition on the first day of the carnival, 20th July 2019.

We are looking for earth loving individuals to join us in spreading plastic waste awareness. 

Open celebrations for the Sustainable Singapore Gallery

  • 2 June: 5pm to 10pm*
  • 3 June: 11am to 9pm*

*Shifts are available

Positions available:

  • Outreach Ambassador -
    • Distribute free gifts and name card to the public,
    • Inform them of the project cause and position of the booth,
    • Entice member of public to visit booth and support the fundraising cause
  • Information Personnel - 
    • Introduce to the members of public that passes by the booth on the project,
    • Inspire the members of public on the project cause,
    • Entice the members of public on supporting the cause through pledge and fundraise
  • Project fundraisers -
    • Promote sales of items,
    • Share the project cause,
    • Cashier
